  • Melissa Miller , D.V.M.

Hello! I am Dr. Melissa Miller.  I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, with honors, in 2000.  My first position as a budding veterinarian took me to the Valley of the Sun in Phoenix, Arizona. After sweating it out for 3 years in the desert, I made the wise move to Atlanta and have been practicing at Terrell Mill for just over 1 year. I thoroughly enjoy the climate here and most of my activities involve the outdoors.  Tennis is my favorite sport, though I am a bit rusty.  My faithful dog, Dakota, has made all of my major moves with me.  She is my constant companion who was rescued from the Humane Society back in Illinois. She tells me that she definitely does NOT miss the snow and enjoys all the squirrels and rabbits that are bountiful here!

Dr. Huggin's veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, and doing her part in promoting the human-animal bond.  Outside of the office, Dr. Huggins enjoys outdoor pursuits, in particular swimming, kayaking, SCUBA diving, and running. She received her DVM in 2005 from Colorado State University and then completed a one-year internship at Animal Medical Hospital, a 24-hour, small animal general and emergency practice in Charlotte, NC. She has two cats named Moe and Elvira, but also enjoys spending time with the cows, donkeys and numerous chickens at her parents’ farm in Crabapple! Her other interests include hiking, skiing and generally anything outdoors. Although she misses the mountains of Colorado, she has enjoyed being back in the South and being able to spend more time with family and friends.
